The linear Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route is growing nationally and in Virginia from Arlington to Yorktown.  The following LoveWorks are currently available through this growing trail system.  The trail portions must be registered for and walked more than once to gather each statue in the logbook:

Virginia is For Lovers® was created in 1969 and has become one of the most beloved and well-known slogans in the world. While it has meant a lot of different things to a lot of different people, one thing hasn’t changed – the LOVE.  In September 2019, the Virginia Tourism Corporation, owners of the VIFL logo, granted the Virginia Volkssport Association "first use" of a new sibling (co-brand) logo that it requested, "Virginia Is For Walking Lovers."  Now the VVA is celebrating the love!

We’re sharing the love in Virginia with more than 350 public "LOVE" artworks across the state. The LOVEwork statues represent our communities and provide fun photo ops.

Find the "Love your Sweet 16 LOVEwork" Around Virginia

Sign up and walk or bike a trail established by the Virginia Volkssports Association or any of its member clubs that goes by a LOVEwork statue.  Record your accomplishment with the event stamp from the IVV (International Federation of Popular Sports) for that trail in a special logbook available for this program.  The logbook is available from the Ron Jones and the Smith Mountain Lake Walking Club for $12.  Use Zelle or mail a check to the address below payable to Smith Mountain Lake Walking Club.


Qualifying Events:
Any trail that is officially sanctioned by the American Volkssports Association (AVA.org) that has a LOVEwork statue located in Virginia counts. A qualified event will have "Find the Love" included in the brochure for the event. A LOVEwork statue can only be used once in the book. There are some trails that have more than one qualifier and the trail must be officially (separate fee) walked more than once to gather each. The specific statue must be identified in the logbook. The program starts immediately through December 31, 2031. Insert cards will be accepted.
